All month we’ve been talking about courage: it isn’t the absence of fear, and it doesn’t wait until you feel ready. So here’s a small practice you can use today, before you even open your calendar.
THE PRACTICE: Three Breaths Before
Before doing the thing that scares you a little (the phone call, the conversation, the thing you’ve been putting off), pause where you are.
Take three slow breaths, in through the nose, out through the mouth, each one a little longer than the last.
On the third exhale, begin. Not when you feel ready. On the third exhale. Think of the turtle, stretching its neck out one inch.
This isn’t about calming down first. It’s about giving your body just enough steadiness to act from choice instead of avoidance. Three breaths is short enough that you can’t overthink your way out of it, and long enough to actually shift something. That’s courage in practice: not the absence of fear, but the willingness to begin with it beside you.
This is the kind of practice woven throughout everything we do in The Collective: twice-weekly live Kundalini yoga, our monthly Collective Rise teaching, and 60+ on-demand practices. It’s all in the Radiant Return Wellness app, now available on iOS and Android, and free with your membership.
